Licenses, photo-sharing rules

Each author who published their photos on may lay down rules on which he makes his work.

The default mode is "all rights reserved". Photoblogs with a base license are marked with an icon:all rights reserved.

But not always that sharp license is needed. For authors who want to publish your photos on the lenient rules there are prepared several other licenses.

Creative Commons, offers authors licenses, which allow to keep their own right and at the same time to share their creations with others. Creative Commons licenses operate on the principle of "some rights reserved" - the limits of fair use are wider and clearer than those delineated on the basis of "all rights reserved". Creative Commons respects the right of creators to determine the extent to which they want to share your creations with others. At the same time encourages the creation of a common culture, elements of which can be freely exchanged and modified. Anyone who has doubts and do not want to use Creative Commons licenses can be left at the default option "All rights reserved".

Creative Commons licenses use copyright law to allow transfer to other parts of the rights of the author. They do not signify a waiver of rights. Works under CC licenses do not go into the public domain - copyrights are retained, but allow making a work available to a wide range of users. CC licenses are designed for all kinds of materials, including photographs or films - especially those distributed over the Internet.

Chosing the standard Creative Commons license, the author decides what to four different conditions sharing song:

  • BY - Attribution [attribution]
  • NC - Noncommercial [non-commercial]
  • ND - No Derivative Works [no derivatives]
  • SA - Under the same conditions [share alike]

Together form combinations of the six basic licenses:

cc byCC-BY - Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Poland
cc by ndCC-BY-ND - Attribution-NoDerivs 2.0 Poland
cc by nc ndCC-BY-NC-ND - Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 Poland
